Quilt Along. Rail Fence

I am so happy you are here! In just a few weeks, The Rail Fence Quilt Along will begin on February 21.  A “Quilt Along” means we quilt together at the same time for each step of the process. Quilt along groups can physically meet or they meet virtually. In our case, we will do the quilt along virtually using the news letter, this blog, YouTube, and Instagram. As your host of the quilt along, I will be here with you each week providing guidance.
My quilt along is a safe place for you to ask questions and of course share your work!

Some times Quilt Along is referred to as QAL.

Usually there are 5 to 8 weeks from the announcement until the quilt along takes place. In our case, I am announcing with 3 weeks until we start the Quilt Along. There is still plenty of time to prepare! But, I am anticipating a small group for this quilt along. Small and cozy is perfect, especially because it is my first time to host a QAL.

If it is your first time to make a quilt, don’t worry, it is my first time to host a virtual quilt along. I have everything planned and can’t wait! If you have never sewn or quilted, this is a perfect quilt to begin with. If you are a seasoned quilter, this is a fun quilt to make with new colors and fabrics. No matter your quilt level, a quilt along is always fun!

This is the perfect QAL for all levels. A beginner or a seasoned will enjoy this.

The timeline of this quilt along is as follows. We begin on Tuesday February 21 and the last meeting is March 28th. This means, you’ll have your quilt completed by Easter! For those who participate in Easter, the goal is to have your quilt finished before the Holy Week. I know for me that this week before Easter can be hectic.  And, if you like a picnic…In Italy, we have Little Easter, Pasquetta, on the Monday after Easter Sunday. The Pasquetta tradition is to go on a picnic. Your quilt will be ready for a Pasquetta picnic or for you to take a nap after your Easter guests go home. Ha-ha!
