Easy Peasy Quilts
Hello! I want to introduce a series of quilts that are easy to make. I’m convinced that everyone has a favorite easy quilt in their pattern stash. Afterall, we’ve all had that moment where we need a quilt like yesterday! I was recently in a situation where I needed two baby quilts immediately. YIKES!! I struggled in finding easy quilt patterns that I also liked. So, I came up with some ideas and designed a few quilts to solve my problem. I said to myself, “I should share these quilt patterns with my readers!” Hopefully this series will be a joyful addition to your list of easy and quick quilts.
The first quilt will be on May 30th. We’ll discuss fabric colors and quilt prep.
Then on June 6th you’ll receive in your inbox, the fabric requirements, and pattern. Be sure to subscribe:)
I have three quilt patterns lined up and ready to go.
Three quilts that are FREE, FAST, and EASY!
Each quilt will be featured over a three week period.
Week 1 – Fabric Prep and Color Choices
Week 2 – Free Pattern Release and Video
Week 3 – Conclusion – final thoughts pros and cons
How it is Organized
The series is similar to a Quilt Along. Particularly, week 1 and week 2 are like a QAL, because I help guide you with color schemes, tools, and tips. The pattern and video are released in step two. These are terrific bonuses to help you complete the quilt with ease. I don’t know about you but I love a good video that demonstrates how to do something!
For Week 3, my dream is to have comments from you so I can include your feedback in the pros and cons of the quilt. Feel free to post in the comments.
What is the video?
It will be a youtube demonstration of how to make the quilt block.

Sending you lots of quilt joy from Rome!

Thank you, I am really encouraged. I never knew there were fabric collections. Takes the guess work out of color matching. I love Mary’s story on timing and goal setting, total game changer. I think I can do this! Thank you.
yay!! I am so happy for you!! Keep me posted and contact me with any questions:)
I don’t have any quilting experience, but I want to make a small Christmas quilt for a child that is easy. Any suggestions? I think I need to start now as I would like to give them around Thanksgiving/Advent. Is this possible? How long does a quilt take?
Hi Susan, thanks for your comment and question. Absolutely! This is the perfect time to start quilting for Christmas. Making Thanksgiving your deadline is excellent because we all know what happens the week before Thanksgiving…a time warp begins! There is no time for anything “extra”.
There are two patterns I recommend to beginners. The pinwheel quilt (what I call, Sweet Spins pattern) is for a confident beginner with some sewing experience, and the Rail Fence pattern are very easy and beginner friendly quilts. The rail fence is by far the easiest and I have youtube videos for it. Either of these quilts can be made with cotton quilt fabric of a Christmas theme.
I will send you the quilt pattern for the Sweet Spins and Rail Fence. The patterns provide the fabric measurements and instructions.
If you work on the quilt 3 hours a week for 4 weeks, you will easily finish a baby quilt or throw by mid-october. In the USA, you can pay for someone to do the “sandwich” (patchwork, batting, and the back of the quilt). This will save you a lot of time! Then all you have to do is the binding around the edge of the quilt to “seal” it shut, so to speak. Let me know if you have more questions or how I can help you more.
Lastly, I have a fabric suggestion. If you do the Rail Fence, the pattern is for 3 colors. I just gave a quick glance at the Missouri Star Quilt website. What about the fabric by the yard (yardage) the brand, ART GALLERY?
