Encounters, Tula Pink, and Bear Paw
Hello, Quilty Friends,
It has been 3 weeks since I wrote a letter. I didn’t forget about you! I am doing great but I am just very busy with some courses. They are taking more of my time than I anticipated. Studying is something we all know how to do but finding the rhythm after being out of a classroom took some time. I felt like I needed oil for the rusty parts of my brain for how to be a student. Haha! Seriously, I think the first days I spent thinking about:
-How do I like to take notes?
-How do I want to organize my thinking?
-How will I study this book?
-Do I have a pen and notebook? Hahaha!
-Where are my snacks?!?!
Now, that I have a bit of a groove going, I hope to be back with more consistent newsletters. My desire is to be in touch with the newsletter and blog at least twice a month.
While I was away from the blog, the most wonderful thing happened to me. A fellow Instagrammer reached out to me! (instragram.com/sewnatty) She said she was coming to Rome and asked to meet up. I was so happy! I proposed an aperitivo and we met in person. From virtual to reality! Not only did we meet, but she also brought me a beautiful gift of Tula Pink Fat Quarter Solids. I was really moved.
These Tula Pink Fat Quarters have colors that are so vibrant! I love them. So, of course, what will I make? Wel, my head is full of many many ideas.
I’m contemplating doing a plus quilt but exaggerating the size. Or, there is also the idea of doing a bear paw, my dream is to make one!
If you’re looking to make a bear paw, keep reading! I have free links for you.
If you want to make a Bear Paw, the Fat Quarter Shop, offers a free download of the block. Also, there is a video by Kimberly, of the Fat Quarter Shop.
In the video, there is a mention of half square triangle paper. I had no idea this even existed!! You can order the paper at Fat Quarter Shop or you can download a link to free pdf here. Just so you know, the free link is not exactly the same as the one in the video.

As usual, there are so many ideas and not enough time. Not to mention I need to continue to follow up on my dream list. My goal was to complete the list by 2024. Click here to read the post.
Once, I know what I want to make with this fabulous Tula Pink fabric, I will write about it. Can’t wait!
Have a great week!
Frome Rome with Love,
Rachel
